It’s important to start playing some songs right away when learning guitar because, if you don’t, you risk getting bored, burned out, and giving up before you ever get to playing any actual songs!   However, we must be careful here.  While it is vital to start putting some chords and strumming together into practice on actual songs asap when starting out, it’s equally crucial you pick the right songs.
